This radial series by Texas artist Adreon Henry embodies movement, rhythm, and discovery through meticulous layering and craftsmanship. Each piece begins with acrylic paint on vinyl, built up in vibrant layers of color. The painted vinyl is then cut into strips and stretched around a hand-built circular wood panel, creating a dynamic surface of tension and symmetry.
Finally, the work is sanded by hand, revealing glimpses of the hidden hues beneath. The result is a composition that feels both mechanical and organic — a rotating field of color and form that shifts with light and perspective.
Every piece is one-of-a-kind, made in Austin, Texas, and reflects Adreon Henry’s ongoing exploration of repetition, material process, and transformation.
