Drawing the Curtains is built through repetition and concealment. Halftone patterns are reverse-screened onto clear industrial vinyl, cut into strips, and woven together until the original image gives way to a new structure. Layers of paint are added, sanded back, and added again, allowing fragments of the printed surface to reappear through wear rather than intention.
The painting exists between covering and revealing. The woven grid acts like a curtain—obscuring, filtering, and occasionally opening just enough to suggest what lies beneath. Thick acrylic wraps the edges and pulls the surface around the frame, making the painting feel less like a window and more like an object shaped by accumulation, erosion, and time.
