3 A.M. Vapors captures the quiet intensity of late-night stillness through a richly layered and tactile process. Built up over time, the piece begins with several coats of acrylic paint interwoven with mixed media elements, creating an organic surface texture. Once cured, the painted surface is cut into strips, intricately woven, and coated again—layer after layer—each pass deepening the complexity of the composition. The final stage involves careful sanding through these layers, revealing veils of color, texture, and unexpected forms beneath the surface. The resulting work feels both atmospheric and grounded, echoing the hazy, introspective calm of early morning hours when thoughts drift like vapor—weightless, elusive, and quietly profound.
