Beach Bangs

Beach Bangs reimagines vintage beach photography through layered processes of appropriation, collage, and transformation. Silkscreened images—drawn from found beach photos—are collaged onto clear industrial-grade vinyl, then cut into strips, woven, and stretched across a handcrafted wood panel. The surface is further developed through repeated cycles of painting, sanding, and sealing, creating a richly textured finish that evokes both sun-faded nostalgia and the worn beauty of time. With its rhythmic weave and layered imagery, the piece captures the fleeting joy and cultural imprint of summer, memory, and the bodies that pass through both.
