In February of 2018 I was contacted by Khi Leo, an event firm in Los Angeles, to see if I had the bandwidth and interest to produce and brand a pop-up restaurant for famed chef Mads Refslund during SXSW. This was no simple task; the restaurant needed a name, a logo, signage, menus and elements to transform a casual diner into a high-end dining experience. Working with Mads I concocted the name, logo, signage and ambiance elements (video, interior design elements) in under six weeks. The client was so happy with the results that I was not only asked back the following year, I was also hired to design and produce a larger, more extravagant event the following year. Oh, and my wife, Jennifer, and I were treated to world class cuisine as a token of appreciation ;7)
