Mystic Cover Band is constructed from serigraph-printed vinyl cut into narrow strips and woven together over a wood panel. Angular printed patterns repeat across the surface, creating a shifting rhythm as the woven structure breaks and reconnects the image.
A single strip of canvas is woven into the field of vinyl, introducing a different material without disrupting the construction itself. The canvas becomes a quiet marker within the composition—a subtle shift in texture that acknowledges the painting as something assembled rather than simply painted. By weaving unlike materials into the same surface, the work blurs the boundary between image, object, and process, allowing the structure of the painting to become as significant as the image it carries.
