A small abstract painting with an original pattern screened in reverse on clear industrial grade vinyl. Two pieces of vinyl are made this way and then each cut into strips and woven together over a hard wood frame. After the weaving process is complete I paint the surface with a carefully chosen composition of color. This is done in several layers creating a weathered gradient effect when it is sanded. I then sand through the layers revealing bits and pieces of the half-tones printed under the vinyl. The sides are also finished in the same process as the front and then sealed in a water based sealant.
